Most of us got used to meeting virtually in 2020 during the pandemic. Since 2016, I’ve loved using telehealth for the convenience of scheduling, eliminating your drive to and from the office, and I also noticed how many people feel more comfortable in their own environment rather than a stranger’s office. The extra layer of anxiety that comes with going to a new place is eliminated, and I can get a better sense of who you are, and your real life.

Who I am.

My name is Jennifer Branstetter and I'm a CBT psychotherapist, but you might also call me a problem solver, listening ear, or compassionate challenger of unhelpful habits. I help people who wish they could make changes in their life, but don’t know where to start. It might be anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, ADHD, or juggling multiple roles that can lead to feeling stuck. I like to dig deep and ask questions to find the solutions you may already know deep down, and then help with what to actually do to feel better. Relief from frustration and anxiety is possible, and you can build the life that you want with the support of someone who is in your corner.

How I can help with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Cincinnati.

In 2010 I graduated with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. I am independently licensed in Ohio and Indiana to provide mental health therapy that is empathic, honest, and effective. I’m also registered as an out-of-state telehealth provider in the state of Florida. I work from a cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused background, so we will take a look at your thought processes, choices, and practical steps you can take to start getting relief. We will also incorporate mindfulness and stress management techniques to relax your body and break the cycle of anxiety. We might also laugh at the absurdity of life and how ridiculous anxiety can be.

You are a partner in the therapy process and the one doing the bulk of the work between sessions. We will develop specific goals right away and then check in on your progress, and I will be encouraging you, giving you ideas, and reflecting some of the blind spots (we all have them). Therapy is a unique opportunity to practice doing things differently, take ownership of your life, and build a relationship where you can practice asserting your needs and giving feedback to someone who can take it. Also I’m a Social Worker, so if there are resources or other support that can help you, I’ll be bringing those up too. We aren’t meant to do this all on our own.
